Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to some burning questions you may have about my work. I hope they give you some answers, be inspired and go create something bueatiful.

How do you create your artwork?

I draw my design on to dress makers pattern paper and use glu stick to temporarily fix the scraps of paper down. I use mainly paper I recycle from magazines, but sometimes i will use other types of paper.

When I'm happy with the design I coat it with several layers of PVA based glue (with a matt varnish added) and wait for it to dry. This makes the colours pop and gives the surface a protective layer. I then hand prick the surface with a series of tiny holes ready for the sewing stage. I hand stitch the paper that is now more like a fine leather in texture. Adding embelishments for eyes and flower centres. Then I use more glue to coat the final design to the painted or papered canvas.

What inspires your artwork?

The decorative nature of the landscape and the love of colour

How do you sign your artwork?

I have an alagram that I sign onto a scrap of paper and either position it in the corner or hide it amongst the image for you to find

Do you run classes?

Not as yet! However I do hope to have some youtube videos shortly of me at work. Please check my media page for details

Is your Artwork Copyrighted?

YES! All of my artwork and designs ARE copyrighted.

An image doesn't necessarily need the copyright symbol on it to be covered by the copyright laws.

So here's the basic run down...

If you want to use one of my images as say, your photo cover on facebook - feel free to use it, but please credit my name and a link leading back to either my facebook page or this website.

Can you copy my artwork? If you want to for personal play - give what I do a try but do not copy my paintings and then start selling it online and credit it as your own. This is a breech of copyright. This is illegal.

Please use my art/style as inspiration - but copying isn't what creating art is about. I have worked very hard for endless years to get to where I am and to have developed my own distinct style. I encourage others to experiment and do the same.

Be Original!

Where can I view your original artwork?

I do exibit my work please check latest news on my blog or website for details. I have previously exhibited at Gracey's Tearooms Truro and Number 8 Hairdressers.
